Meet the Band

Dr. Keith Jackson
Vocals & Guitar
Keith Jackson was introduced to the guitar at age 12 and has been playing ever since. Early influences on his music have been Ricky Skaggs, Doc Watson, and Chet Atkins. Later influences were John Denver, Jim Croce, The Eagles, Doobie Brothers, and Kenny Logins. Keith continues to learn from most all country’s current bests. When he isn’t adjusting patients at his chiropractic office at the Missouri Station Building in Placerville, he is singing duets at local wineries and community events with his wife Kathy. Keith and his wife also lead worship music not only at their church, but at churches around the county.

Bob Hammett
Lead Vocals
Bob developed a critical ear years ago. The nephew of Kathy Jackson, he has been singing since he first heard his mother and her sisters sing. He has written songs and continues to provide creative direction for the band. He lives, breathes and eats country music. Bob likes artists such as Toby Keith, Alan Jackson (no relation--we wish!), and Big & Rich. Bob runs his own business and has painted some of the finest homes and commercial businesses in the Sacramento area. A couple of his projects have been featured in home designer magazines.

Roger Stanton
Bass Guitar
Roger is an excellent bass player. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and played around there for many years before coming to the Sierra Foothills where we nabbed him. Roger's day gig is being Vice President of Beazer Homes.

Kathy Jackson
Vocals & Keyboard
Kathy, aka Queen Bee comes from a Musical Family Background growing up in Wisconsin where her Grandmother, Aunts, and Uncles all sang in the church choir. She began singing with her sisters at the early age of 8 at church events, and family gatherings. Later on her family group became the “Sisters Three” performing as a “Trio” all over Northern California. Meeting her guitar playing husband Keith 10 years ago ignited a new venture into performing as a “Duo” in and around Northern California, which eventually became the catalyst to forming Jackson Steel. Kathy and her Husband can still be found at local wineries and community events singing as a duo. They also lead worship at their church as well as other local churches in the community. Queen Bee has often said: “Little did I know that growing up with so much harmony in the family was grooming me for what was to come. The family gatherings of 'working out that harmony' was the greatest influence of music in my life.”

George Spriggs
Lead Guitar & Vocals
Raised in San Francisco George grew up watching Grand Ole Opry. As a teenager in S.F., he cut his teeth on 60’s music. At age 14 his family moved back to the south. Playing Huntsville Alabama (country music Mecca) at an early age, George applied his roots to country music. George journeyed through many musical forms including jazz, blues, new wave, punk, rock, motown, reggae, gospel and back to his roots… country. George plays drums, mandolin, guitar, bass, vocals, whatever is needed. “I love playing Jackson Steel’s down home music.” George enjoys writing songs and playing them at open mic night to test them out.
